In this case, this vaccine generates such a strong immune reaction, so powerful that it can be administered in a single dose. It does not require deep freezing, like Pfizer, but it needs to be stored and transported at low temperatures (-25°), and it can be administered anywhere in the world, especially in areas where there are difficulties in accessing health systems. It is recommended for people 18 years of age or older.

Effectiveness of Johnson & Johnson vaccine

In clinical studies, efficacy was shown for general infection of 67% and, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) 28 days after its application, an efficiency of 100% against death was found, 85.4% against symptoms severe, and 93.1% against hospitalization.

Side effects of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine

Possible link between Johnson & Johnson vaccine and Guillain-Barré syndrome

Another possible link that was found was with Guillain-Barré syndrome, in which the immune system attacks nerves. This notice is provided by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). 

According to the information, this decision is made public after detecting 100 possible causes of the syndrome among the 12.8 million people who have received the vaccine in the United States, that is, it affected 0.0007% of the total.

In its notice, the FDA says that: «95% of the cases were serious and the patients had to be hospitalized. One of them died.» However, he also pointed out that the data is «insufficient to establish a causal relationship», that is, that the vaccine is directly responsible for the development of the symptom.

Given this, Johnson & Johnson issued a statement in which it mentions that it has held talks with the FDA about this adverse effect and recalled that the possibility of developing Guillain-Barré syndrome is very low, as shown by the data from the authorities. sanitary.
